Maths Week supporter Doug Buchanan sadly passed away this year, but he loved puzzles, so he would have been thrilled with this year’s theme of ‘Can We Solve it?’ As you can see from the starting image on the video, Doug had a great sense of humour; He called this image ”25%’!

In memory of Doug, this year’s competition is a bit different. Watch the short video for details. We would like YOUR students to come up with their own original puzzle and solution. It can be in any format – written, video, or even audio. Or they might decide to create their own version of a classic puzzle; both are fine.
Please note that the deadline for entries is 9am on Monday 18th November, and the winner will be announced the following Friday (22nd).
There is a fabulous prize of a £100 voucher for what we decide to be the best entry. We will also make a charity donation in Doug’s name.
