Triangular Threes
A fun number investigation for primary children (and perhaps older children too).
Primary teacher and Maths Week England fan Jacob Merrill has created this lovely resource for Maths Week 2023, using this year’s theme ‘Three is a Magic Number’.
The aim is to join circles 1,2 and 3 into a calculation that gives 3 as the answer and write it inside. Now – if you add a ‘4’ circle, can you still make 3 using the three numbers that surround it?
The answer is on the left – but now, can you add a 5 circle? And a 6? How far can you go?! For full details of the task, see Jacob’s website by clicking the button below.
