As the name suggests, Maths Week is a week-long FREE celebration of all things maths! Believe it or not, some perceive maths as being a bit elitist (that is, being only for extremely clever people)! Maths Week sets out to raise the profile of the subject whilst, at the same time, encouraging children to pursue maths by promoting a more positive and inclusive approach. This is in order to allow children from all social and economic backgrounds to access and enjoy the wonders of mathematics, which are many! FREE resources will be available for children of all ages, including daily video puzzles, daily problem solving activities and so much more. Maths Week 2026 launches on the 14th of November, so there is still plenty of time to get prepared. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

What are the aims of Maths Week?<\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The main aim of\u00a0Maths Week\u00a0is to make maths accessible to all students, of all backgrounds. In order to meet this aim, centres of higher education are encouraged to invite schools to visit and take part in fun maths-based activities! This is to inspire those students who may not see maths as a viable option for them, for whatever reason.<\/span><\/p>

Of course, it\u2019s not always possible for universities to do this. So, another aim of the occasion is to help teachers with planning special, low-cost yet high-impact maths activities at their own schools. The website will be your first point of call with a variety of FREE activities for all age groups.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Maths Week\u00a0provides a great opportunity to get creative with how to teach and have fun with maths. There\u2019s no prescriptive, one-size-fits-all approach here. Alongside the daily FREE activities there will be a number of \u2018live\u2019 in-person events to attend too.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
